Producer School: Young talents applauded at the Petrobras Odeon Cinema

In any film premiere there are 3 basic ingredients: the red carpet, beautifully dressed guests and blinding lights of the camera flashes. All these elements were present on Thursday the 6th of May marking the first viewings of the Producer School of Cinema Nosso’s work to a selected public of almost 800 at the Petrobras Odeon Cinema. The stars of the night were the young directors and the public’s positive reaction showed that the risks taken by Cinema Nosso on the students had paid off.

The film “Happy Easter”, directed by André Tavares with the collaboration of Kátia Lund, shows the tragedy of a middle class family selling synthetic drugs and caused a commotion in the audience on the night. “Awakening” directed by Mariana Campos with the collaboration of Fernando Meirelles, shocked those that still see homosexuality as a social irregularity and provoked reflections. “Is that Good?” directed by Tamiris Lourenço with the collaboration of Roberto Berliner and Dib Lutfi, surprised even the film team as it was finished only days before. “Vegan Family”, a children’s animation made by Pedro Ryan and Christian Proença directed by the Ana Rita Nemer, was enjoyed by all for its education purposes about nutrition and protecting animals.

A entrada é gratuita.

Kátia Lund takes part in the making of the first film by Cinema Nosso's School-Producer

Intensive learning. That was how those that participated in the School-Producer described the experience had over the last few days on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of May, when the filming of Happy Easter took place. This is the first short film to be carried out as part of the project and was lucky enough to have the participation of director Kátia Lund, who as well as being one of the founders of Cinema Nosso also co-directed "News from a private war" ("Notícias de uma guerra particular", with João Moreira Salles), and "City of God"("Cidade de Deus", with Fernando Meirelles) and directed an episode of "Invisible Children", ("Crianças Invisíveis), amongst a series of other productions.
